There are medical benefits to people suffering from chronic pain, MS, cancer (and on chemotherapy), cataracts, and various other painful muscle and/or joint diseases.

The health hazards are an increased incidence of bronchitis and respiratory problems. I haven't read anything about asthma, but from observing friends, a lot of the pot smokers had much more severe asthma than others.

There are no health benefits.

Psychological benefits include feeling good, time dilation (where time seems to last longer), being happy, and some might say feeling creative.

Psychological disadvantages include marijuana psychosis (it is rare, but exhibits the same symptoms as schizophrenia, but it only lasts for about 1-2 weeks), increased risk of developing a mental disorder if you are prone to one already. There is debate over what I am saying, but it has been suggested that if you might develop a mental disorder like schizophrenia or depression or bipolar disorder, then smoking marijuana can initiate its onset. It doesn't CAUSE it necessarily, but can trigger it. Other disadvantages are paranoia, feeling nervous, laziness, feeling unmotivated, and sometimes feeling anti-social.

Everyone has a different experience. Another thing to remember is that marijuana is unfortunately illegal in the United States. You can smoke legally in Amsterdam, and I'm not sure if this is still the case in Canada, but I believe it is decriminalized. It is not legal, but you won't go to jail there. Also, don't smoke in the car or while you're driving, the penalties are worse and it's more likely you'll get caught driving around than in the safety of your own home.

Personally, I think it's nice to try things that are on this earth just to experience the world fully. Smoking marijuana is one of those things that you should keep as a limited experience. The more you do it, the less exciting it is, and in the end you realize you missed out on a lot of fun things because you were busy being high and not totally mentally in the moment. I think a lot of people who have smoked feel that way. Also, if you choose to do it where it is illegal, don't get caught.

medical benefits: aids in relaxation, helps reduce pain both psychological and physical, apparently helps with ME and MS,

Health hazards: Bronchial problems due to the high level of tar in the weed itself,

health benefits: cant help there I'm afraid

Psychological pros and cons: takes the sharp edges off lifes hardships. cons: anxiety, paranoia, possible self esteem issues.

Personal experiences: didn't do much for me except make me giggle alot and tired. Husband has had years of experience and I must admit he is a better and different person since he has stopped using it.

All of the above are relative to the individual only.

A Con is it's illegal.

A Pro is that someone on chemotherapy who is suffering from nausea can smoke a little to be able to hold down some food. My father-in-law was dying of pancreatic cancer and my husband was given a little from a friend so he could eat Thanksgiving dinner. It worked, but I wished he'd been able to have more dinners with us. He passed away four days before Christmas.
