1. Learn how to take good notes so you'll have the information you need to know in order to pass.
2. Learn the proper way to study.
3. Make sure you know how to follow directions.
4. Learn how to write a complete sentence and know the difference between a declarative sentence and a question.
5. Take a foreign language while in high school so you won't have so many problems if you take one in college.
6. Brush up on your math skills or you'll wind up in remedial math
7. Don't be afraid to ask a question if you don't understand something. There are no stupid questions despite what your fellow classmates might make you think.
8. Make sure your reading skills are at the college level when you leave high school.
9. Remember, cell phones, cd players etc. should be turned off when entering the classroom.
10. If you're bored in class, don't sit there and draw pictures or play games on a computer - teachers can see what you're doing and it may come back to haunt you later. At least look like you're paying attention.
That's my Top 10 list of things you need to be aware of as you go into high school because all of them are important skills and courtesies you'll either need to know or be aware of as you go on to a college or university.

the best thing that you can do is take a foreign language for four years in high school. Most colleges will require this. Also take advantage of any college prep classes that can earn you college credits. This can save you taking some college classes and save you money in the long run. Also try to some extra curricular activities (i.e sports, clubs, etc.). This will look good on any college application. Hope these tips help and good luck with school. :)

Don't try to over do it. Just do what you can do well. Good grades in typing are better that poor grades in chemistry. Dont worry about math, if you can do algebra I. Thats enough, more is better if you want to be in the science fields.
