Would it be better if people had to prove that they could support their own children and were mentally stable to have children?

I know what youmean. I have often thought that God made one mistake. You have to have a license to drive a car. You have to pass exams for many things in life. But any idiot can create a life. Wouldn't it be great a doctor had to physically go in and perform an operation to make you able to either get pregnant, or to get someone pregnant! After you prove that you have the mental, financial and emotional capability to do so.

Ah the fantasy! After reading a few of these questions I've started to wonder... If someone can't spell "conceive" should they be trying to??? And maybe mental stability tests could keep children from being drowned by their own mothers...

not sure, people still drive without a license. But I see your point, there are some people out there who should NOT be aloud to breed. There have been cases in the U.S. where people have been subject to having thier tubes tied or had vasectomies by court order. I believe there was a case in the past few years her in ohio.

No- I believe having children is a human right. Also, how would you be able to say who was eligible and who wasn't? Is it enough to make $15,000? $20,000? $30,000? Can you then restrict people based on their health since sick people can't give as much care? What about people who will teach their children different beliefs?

The best we can do is educate people about the responsibility of having children so that they will be more prepared to make the right decision.

I definitely think some people should be sterilized at birth.I know that may sound awful but some people just don't have the compassion a person needs to take care of children.

Wait! My girlfriend said I DO need a license to breed. I've been waiting for two and a half years for it to come in the mail. This explains a lot!

Hell Yes! If everyone had to get a license for that they wouldn't be fighting for abortion rights or finding kids in trash cans or even have young girls that have no idea about parent hood pregnant.

where do i sign the petition

If this was implemented, everyone within breeding age would have to be on birth control. There would also have to be strict consequences for violators. Are we ready for this? Not yet. We're going to have to have some population / resource problems first.

absolutely. No one would be one welfare and no government money going to young girls who just keep popping them out one after another. The world would be a better place if the poor , the lower class, and young single women would stop breeding.
