My friend doesn't think she's pretty but she's very pretty.She thinks that when guys want to talk to her they're messing with her.BUT THEY NEVER ARE!! I'm not the only one who tells her she's pretty, a lot of people do but she doesn't listen to any of us.What can I tell her to convince her that she is pretty?

Stop falling for that old trick, honey. Your friend is needy...and she WANTS you to keep telling her how lovely she is....she already knows it. Don't say it for a while and you'll see how she reacts. If she says "I'm not pretty"...tell her "I love you just like you are"....that is NOT what she wants to hear!

It all stems from what she sees when she looks in the mirror. I had the same problem. Every time I looked in the mirror I saw a fat person, (I weigh 108). Try to find out what those deep rooted demons are that are telling her that she's not pretty and why she believes them. There is something brewing alot deeper and if you can help her past it, she thank you for being there for her.

I think she has a low self esteem but she is probably doing what I call "fishing for compliments". She is probably saying stuff like "Oh I'm so ugly", so that you will say "No you're not, you are so pretty." She just doesn't have any confidence and she is just wanting people to tell her how pretty she is.

She is not feeling ugly, she is playing safe! She knows exactly who she is but she just doesnt want people to exploit her based on her looks. She knows and she is smart.
It is not your right to make judgements for her lead her on to 'trust' guys! When the right time and right guy comes to her life, she will decide who/what to do... not you!
As a friend, you respect her wish and her choice. Stop telling her because she doesnt need validations in order to choose a man and to lead her life!

She is going through a phase in life, give her space and time. Everybody turns around sooner or later. Take a picture of her and have on www.hotornot.com then see the rating! Maybe she will reconsider it then!

you can tell her until your blue in the face. She is going to have to find what she thinks is beautiful about herself. Ask her to name 5 things she likes about herself, then ask her 5 things she thinks is beautiful about herself. Tell her after this, she needs to carry this list around with her and you arent going to remind her of her beauty. She has the list and she should work with this herself.

probably some one shud have said to her that she is not a looker at a tender age, and shes still carrying that, unable to shake it off, just ask her to pay more attention to the guys falling for her, or atleast show to her, that many guys just stare at her becos shes pretty.

Sometimes no matter how much you tell her she is pretty, she won't believe it. She obviously is insecure, which alot of people are. Just hope she gains confidence in herself!
