What are good quality ones to buy, and what would I order at a cigar bar to appear to not be a "rookie"?

You can't go wrong asking for some of the big name labels: Partagas, Cohiba, Punch, and the like.

But if you want to impress, you could order a limited edition brand cigar, such as the Comacho limitado or the La Flor Dominicano Limitado.

If you want to avoid looking like a rookie, for god's sake, don't order a "flavored" cigar (Acid, Havana Honeys, etc.). That kinda stuff is for know-nothing rookies.

Good luck, hope you find something you like.

I saw your girl friend found you on here, I try to keep this yahoo answers a secret from mine. That way she can't see any of the questions I ask about her. But anyways, Montecristo is a good one to start with. About seven bucks each, but a wonderful smoke. Also try the 5-Vegas brand if they have any, they are my favorite cigars. But remember that most of the fun of smoking cigars is trying all the brands out there and figuring out what you like for yourself.

having received your suggestions on what to get, you really sure you want to? My ex and his friend thought they were so cool smoking cigars, but they did not smell nice and there was no way I'd kiss him till he brushed his teeth and used mouthwash...bleargh!
