Absolutely...
You MUST go to Washington DC--the museums are fantastic and more importantly, most of them are FREE! I strongly recommend The Museum of Natural History (see the Hope diamond!), The Museum of American History (see the red slippers from the Wizard of Oz and other wonderful collections), and the Holocaust Museum.

you can go to http://www.si.edu/ to check out their museums. they are awesome. and the one in washington dc is free admission- the national air and space museum. theres also the corning museum of glass that is really beautiful and unlike traditional ones w/dinosaurs etc.
