Tampons aren't 'bad' as such -- its just that you shouldn't keep them too long (more than 8 hours) as you run the risk of getting an infection called 'Toxic Shock Syndrome' with a certain bacteria called staphylococcus aureas. 'Running the risk fo' means that even then not all women get it -- but it IS the most common cause of this potentially life-threatening disease. It is completely treatable if diagnosed early.
But, what alot of people don't know is that while keeping tampons too long is the most common cause of TSS, you can also get it from wounds and so many other sources. And, not just menstruating women get it either -- children and men could get it too -- from sources OTHER than tampons - like skin wounds and nasal infections. 1/3rd of cases are in MEN! Alot of sports women use tampons - as theyre more convenient. So, go ahead and dont worry -- jusat be sure to change it regularly.

Tampons have been related to toxic shock syndrome. There are also some bad chemicals in the bleaching process known as dioxins which may cause endometriosis and even cancer. Rayon tampons are exceptionally bad for this. There is also an increased risk of developing an infection.

They're only bad if you choose to leave them in for over the designated time (usually 8 hours) because this can cause infections and even worse, TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) which can kill, however leaving them in overnight is usually fine as well even if it is longer than 8 hours.

tampons are bad, you just have to be very careful.
change it every hour to two hours
don't forget that you put it in.
pads allow better flow down there.
read the instructions in the box of tampons and you will better understand what the difference is between pads and tampons.
If you put it in wrong you may end up needing to have a doctor remove it .

Depends on the brand. The less chemicals the better, but The Keeper is cheaper. Keeper reusable mestrual cup. I don't think you can get toxic shock with those, and no landfill. One rubber cup will last. . .they say 10 years, but I think it's more like 6 or 7, but still. . .
Look it up.

well, they can result in toxic shock syndrome. (TSS). I wouldn't advise sleeping in them, or , to use them all the time. Don't leave them in over 2 hours , even tho, the box says 8. If it hurts take it out, even if taking it out hurts. It will hurt a little bit more if it isn't very full, cause it get more flexible the more it absorbs. Only use tehm whil swimming, and don't use them often. Pad are much better for you.
