I believe I had an encounter with a ghost at my cousin's house. I live in the north and she lives in the south. Last thanksgiving I went down there to visit while she was out of town. I had suspicions that her house may have a ghost during my previous visit. While I was alone in her house, her bathroom door from time to time would slowly come to a complete close. I just attributed it to the house settling. However, during my last visit there were things that happened that confirmed the presence of a spirit. My cousin lives in an old house and the front door has an old dead bolt lock, that requires a key to open from both the outside and the inside, so there was no way a person could lock themselves out by mistake. The door has two locks. Keep in mind that no one else in the immediate area had access to my cousin's home. I made it a point to only lock one lock. Each time I came back I would find both locks locked. It didn't matter whether I was gone for 5,15, or 30 minutes. Each time I returned both locks would be locked. I called my cousin's brother who lived about an hour away and told him what was going on and he told me that my cousin purchased the house as part of an estate sale and the lady who passed away in the house and her husband were the original owners. At no time did I really feel threatened. With that in mind. I stated to the ghost or ghosts that I was a christian man and I loved the Lord and that while my cousin was away I would take very good care of the house. I then went on to say that when I leave I will be only locking the bottom lock and I would appreciate it if only the bottom lock was locked when I returned. From that moment on I had no further problems. I think by locking the door the ghost was protecting it's home. I can perfectly understand if you don't believe me. If I hadn't experienced it for myself. I wouldn't either.

As long as I am not awakened by them, I usually handle out-of-the-ordinary experiences quite well. If I didn't know who it was I would ask their name and their story. If I thought I could help them into the light I would.
I do kinda freak though when I am in a deep sleep and am awakened by anything unknown. When that happens, I am unable to be rational and for some reason I am slow to process what is really going on and I cannot move or speak. I think I may be getting a little better about that though.

If the ghost hangs around for a little while, they will give you an opportunity to ask them why they are here. If they make themselves known to you, they are there for you and you really need to ask what that might be.
They are harmless so no need to scream, run, or move out.
You can ask them to leave and they will.

I've seen a ghost, all I could do was cry, I mean, here is this poor lost soul doomed to roam the earth until he finishes what ever it is that he needs to accomplish before he can pass over, or he is stuck here on Earth as a lonely Spirit.

Continue on as usual. If the ghost has something to share with me they will do so. They always have in the past.

I don't believe in ghosts. But I do believe in angels and demons.
And I have been attacked by demons before because I am a Christian.

I'd like to think I'd try to communicate with it in some way, strike up a friendly conversation, find out what's on its "mind," etc. I would try to figure out some sort of non-supernatural explanation, though: "more of gravy than of grave" -- Ebenezer Scrooge.

Scream "Holy Sh*t!" and run away, screaming like a lunatic, and tripping over stuff. Seriously.
