I know it's a conspiracy theory in the exteeme, a global government, with symbols all over the place: the all seeing eye, the Chrystler logo, etc. What can you add?

No, I have not read Angels and Demons, but those two pretty much explains it. I am doing research for my web site's GunSmoke page, which deals with all the rumors that have been flying around since Brandon Lee was killed. It's in four parts, and the last part is about rumors of his murder and I surfed onto a site about the
globalists.

In 1776 Dr. Adam Weishaupt started what was called the Order of the Illuminati in Germany. The Illuminati is a secret society within a secret society!!! In 1785 they were banned because it was believed that they wanted to overthrow the kings in Europe as well as the pope. There is alot of speculation on their activities, i.e. The French and American revolution was started by them!!!! All members are educated in the following principles:
1.) U must be free of all religion
2.) The end justifies the means
3.) The Patet Exitus ( doctrine on suicide)
4.) Submission to the Superiors of the Illuminati
5.) The Love of one's prince and country (the ultimate ends of the Order).
If I tell u anymore I have to kill u!!!

Illuminati simply means "Illuminated ones" -- in other words, groups that consider themselves illuminated. So you can imagine that there are plenty who have given themselves this name.

Within the modern conspiracy theories, they are the upper levels of the freemasons -- a closed inner circle, so to speak. And the theories propose that they use the outer, "unenlightened" circles (or lower levels) of the brotherhood as a cover for what they're really all about, which is world domination.

The theories propose that the illuminati are levels 30-33 of the freemasons, with the REAL leaders at level 33. The problem is that the theories don't recognize certain facts about masonry. For instance, in the States, there is no central organization for the blue lodges of masonry, which are the first three levels. Each state has its own grand lodge, and there is no grand lodge on the national level.

After you are a master mason of the blue lodge (level 3, which can happen in a single day because the masons are struggling to maintain membership), you can apply to AFFILIATED masonic organizations. The only one with 33 levels (that is, 30 in addition to the blue lodge levels) is the Scottish Rite. This does NOT control the members of the blue lodges, but you have to be a blue lodge member in order to join. (So the illuminati cannot control blue lodge members.)

Because of the same membership problem, master mastons today (in certain places) can become 32nd degree Scottish Rite masons IN A SINGLE DAY. This flies in the face of tradition, of course, but it also means that I know plenty of 32nd degree masons. The final degree is reserved as an honorary degree for those who have dedicated themselves to masonry over the years.

Having said all this, I expect there are CERTAIN BRANCHES of the Scottish Rite where it still takes a long time to advance in masonry. And no doubt there are certain groups within masonry that have selfish, controlling purposes, just as there are such people in businesses and organizations everywhere. Are there masonic illuminati who would like to take over the world? I don't see why that's impossible. But you can't make sweeping statements about this -- at least not here in the United States -- when you understand the state of masonry here today.

I won't recommend anything Dan Brown has written, especially the Da Vinci Code. Why would denounce and espouse lies about Christ and still proclaim himself a christian if he did not love all the money? He and his books are lies because the truth are not in any of them!!

Pierre Charles L'Enfante, the person who designed the most of Washington, DC was a member of the Illuminati and its streets.
The streets are laid in such a way it uses the Illuminati logo of the compass and square has a underlying satanic meaning. There are other nearby intersecting streets which form the shape the pentagram and a goat head. There are other satanic images on the dollar bill. The word "Mason" is spelled out of the back using the Star of David inside the circle. The is also Egyptian pagan owl front of the bill along with the Eye of Horus- The Egyptian “Eye of Horus” (aka All Seeing Eye.)

The Illuminati is a fictional prganization that is supposedly running the entire world behind the scenes. A mainstay of conspiracy buffs as to the people behind everything, from the moon landing to the assasination of JFK, from the murder to Julious Caeser to the Iraqi war, it is either a loose confederation of either powerful individuals or organizations or a tightly knit cabal of the same.

It is an excuse for outlandish theories and a justification for pretty much any action. Since it is so well known for a super secret organization, it is also very widely used in works of fiction.

Finally, it is a card game produced by Steve Jackson Games.
