think about it, why is it that all these forms of math, still come out with an answer? 1 plus 1 does equal two and so forth. So was it invented or was it discovered?

Mathematics is a Tool.

Therefore, it was Invented.

Certain properties in Nature or Laws of Nature, can be said to be discovered. But the underlining models or tools used to interpret them are definitely invented.

Very cool question. I'm going with invented, although I think that there is a good argument for discovered. I think that mathematics is the human way of describing completely abstract relationships. In other words, the relationships existed and have to discovered, but the mathematics we use to describe the relationships were invented by humans as a means to describe them.

It is both. The early forms of math was discovered to be true, some of the higher forms of math were more invented to explain complex events in nature.

Both!!!

Early maths would have been learnt alongside basic language. I want one would have been simple, then along would have come words for I want two, three etc. Logic would then have introduced simple addition and subtraction. So this part of maths was therefore discovered.

Higher maths on the other hand was all invented. Algebra was probably the first and was quickly followed by other scientific methods together with symbols and laws.

Invented, properly so a techniques as i'm worried besides. this can be a significant question (if not THE significant question) of the philosophy of arithmetic (i.e- mathematical realism or anti-realism). the extreme of the discovery stance is the Platonic college- which believes mathematical products fairly exist on some element as honestly products that are to be got here upon. the extreme of the discovery stance is possibly Fictionalism (of which i'm a supporter)- which claims arithmetic is a (frequently) consistent tale wound together by using us. Fictionalism is actual very very corresponding to the now defunct (yet not in spirit) Formalism of Hilbert, yet a lot extra ambitious- certainly TOO ambitious in maximum persons's eyes. Who believe that that is unreasonable that this variety of narrative may be this variety of competent approximator of truth (although this to me looks to promote mind's eye very short- our approximations are frequently reliable, Euclidean geometry, even quantum theory are circumstances) yet will we opt to connect an ill-defined metaphysical high quality of existence to mathematical products although? I doubt it, if we do, we will in ordinary words be trapping ourselves in an eternal spiral of 'God created the integers, yet who created God?'- not a pleasent position to be in!

I'm no way near being a math wiz, but I'd guess at discovered.

If you are a believer discovered otherwise invented.i would say rather it evolved or it was developed
