Very good question!
I think "a life well lived" is one in which you seek wisdom, not just knowledge; though you must have a certain level of knowledge in order to attain wisdom. One in which you work hard and smart, earning everything that you have rather than resorting to force or fraud. It is also one in which you have a few good, close friends rather than a lot of acquaintances whom you call friends. It is a life in which you "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"; in other words, do no intentional harm to others and always be honest. A life well lived is a piquant and stimulating one; it should be full of lively social intercourse. It is full of the timelessness of good books rather than the fleeting, impermanent bad effects of TV; and the salutary benefits of small amounts of good eating rather than piles and mounds of drive-through junk food. You may seem quixotic to others, but your life should make perfect sense to you.
If you have lived a good, adventurous life, you can have the satisfaction of living it again when you are old and decrepit, through your memories. You should be able to look back on it with few, if any, regrets.
To sum it up, a life well lived is one that is lived on your own terms, full of happiness for you and absent of hurt toward others.

If at the end of my life, I can look back with few regrets then I will be satisfied. A life well lived is one where you have overcome your fears and found that thing in life that makes it so you wake up every morning and cant wait to begin again..

Tread light, do as little damage as possible, and leave the world a better place if you can. In past perspective, that is.
