Heres a link to a google search. Don't click the first one though, it asks you to download something and I'm very weary of sites like that.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=boolean+matching

But this link seems like it has a lot of answers:

Do you mean Boolean Logic and Venn Diagrams? Such as OR, AND, NOT.

when searching for information you insert those booleon operators into your search to reduce the amount of unnecessary information.

Check out this website from Wilfred Laurier University.

Boolean logic is how databases are searched and you can do it with advanced searching on google and altavista.

AND OR NOT WITH

and makes searching smaller
red AND blue AND white AND flag

Or makes searching bigger
Woman OR women OR girl OR girls OR female

"The rain on the plane in Spain" means search these words in this order.

dolphin NOT mammal
(one type of dolphin is a rubber bumper for a boat)

Methinks you're asking the wrong crowd.

The only reference I have to Boolean in my life is from Timeline by Michael Chrichton. Or was it Jurassic Park? (and I mean the books, not the movies).
