If you're talking globally, then violence occurs due to greed and other people's need to defend themselves from dictators' ambitions.
If you're talking societally, violence is used so often because we have such a poor education system that people cannot use logic and reason to come up with a non-violent response or answer.

Not everyone thinks that but it can be the answer to some things like there is this girl that thinks she can beat me up so she wants to fight me and I said no because yu will be to chicken! Most people just solve it buy talking. That's only because most people annoy them that's why they think violence will solve it because they hate that person.

So many reasons... he wants to be the best... he is not afraid of God.... no proper childhood guidance by his parents so he has no good moral values... or maybe he has been maltreated so it is a revenge... he grew up in a very bad environment or it can be poverty. A person who is starving couldn't think well.
