I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. I left that profession because I found one where the medicine was far healthier and it WORKED. The Chinese are past masters at it and if you understood how and why it worked you would be running down to one right now, the answer is YES it can help, I am an acupressurist, it's almost the same kind of thing but pressure is used rather than needles. If you don't like the needles they can give you MOXIBUSTION, treatment with hot herbs. Don't let idiots who pooh pooh the idea put you off, what the hell do they know about it. Try it, what have you got to lose.

Acupuncture is analgesia (stopping pain) which you don't have. This is something else caused by nerve damage or pressure on a nerve and is called parasthesia. In all seriousness, pins and needles wont cure your parasthesia
