is there a product that will soften the dreadlocks hair style so that the hair can be straightened?

my daughter wore her hair braided entirely to long and the hair is matted like dreadlocks. Please help!

i would try a very good conditioner- overnight. And then try to gently gently comb out the snarls while the conditioner is in. If it is too hard- washut the conditioner- apply more and do the whole thing over again. If you cant comb it out after two nights of conditioning- chances are, you're going to have to cut it out. good luck. ( use alot of conditioner- dont skimp)

First of all,this is the wrong category, you should ask this question in the hair category, but when a person has extremely matted dreads there is no way to undo them, all you can do is cut them off.

All you can do is wash with lanolin or another to make it as strong as possible then try to do a slow comb out... Everyone has different results depending on tightness of dreads and hair type...
