When I download objects for my Sims2 game, I create a folder to put the downloads into (i.e. Sims2_07152006) so that I have all the downloads in 1 place. Downloads can be in zip, rar, or Sims2 intallable packs. After you have downloaded the content you want, all you have to do is extract the zip and rar files into your sims2 download folder. It is located under My Documents. C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads is where the files should be extracted to. If the sims2 download is in a sims2 installable pack format, it will look like a light blue icon/printer and all you have to do with that is to double click it and it will install itself into the correct file. You have to have a program that will extract rar files if the files you downloaded are in that format. I use TUGZIP (free program) and it will extract both zip and rar files. Once you start up the game, make sure that you click to enable custom content or you won't see anything that you added to your game. Some of the files you download could be recolors of original sims2 content and might need CEP in order to be able to see them in your game. You can get that and also find anymore answers to questions at: http://www.modthesims2.com/

you click on the download button and then afterwards a small blue screen should pop up and says upload or something and then it transfers it into your game.
