Attrition - don't fill positions left by employees leaving.

Excision - remove entire business components, laying off all involved.

Blanket cut - lay off all employees and allow them to reapply for their positions. This is one of the more brutal ways to do it, as employees usually begin at the bottom of the ladder again.

Dilbert method - Announce "Due to inclement weather, all non-essential employees may leave early today." Anyone not at their desks at 5 gets a pink slip.
