No question in my mind. It's Egypt! Without dissing Morocco, the typical Egyptian is friendly and open and will go out of his way to give assistance. Cairo is a lovable, frustrating, chaotic city with distinctive neighborhoods from Coptic traditional to the Nile side garden cafes. You are already well aware of the attractions of ancient Egypt, but the cuisine, shopping, and joie de vivie of modern Egypt are also to be enjoyed. The Nile cruises to the antiquities of Upper Egypt are gracious and extremely inexpensive. A sun downer on the veranda of the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan overlooking the Nile is absolutely special. And for the beaches and/or scuba diving head for the Sinai and Red Sea. O.K. I'm prejudice because, although I visited Morocco for three weeks, I lived in Egypt for six years. But, hey, I am not getting a percentage for the recommendation offered!
