Peer pressure would have to be the biggest factor i think.
If i dont do it they might think im not cool.
if i do then im cool.
The thought of doing something that is illegal could also be another reason why people start to use drugs. Maybe this hightens the experience for them. For some people the first time is the last. Others arnt so lucky and their suffering for that decision for the rest of their lives. Thats wot i think.

In highschool the kids who did drugs were the losers, burnouts, criminals etc. So it was easy to stay away from that and have a reasonable justification. However, when I went to college, I began to notice other kinds of people used marijuana. People who were successfull, academically bright, strong finely tuned athletes, all would occasionally smoke or drink. Seeing this in addition to normal curiosity is what caused me to try those things for the first time. After experiencing this and doing a little more research finding out much of what we are taught about drugs is largely exaggerated or untrue, led me to experiment with stronger things. I don't use drugs today and enjoy a successful career, but I can credit experimenting with those different kinds of things as a healthy part of my psychological development. This is not an endorsement for anybody, as I have also known a few people who have SCREWED their lives up horribly because of drugs. To each his own I guess.

Satan is a liar and tells people that one time won't hurt, And when peer pressure comes in that's why the bible says that when temptation comes, to run. We need to live for God and these things among others we can overcome with the help of Lord Jesus.
