It would be a disaster, short of what it is now. People would try to inflict their beliefs upon each other, it would be utter chaos.

There are millions of people on earth.... with millions of different viewpoints and lifestyles. As humans, we all have the right to have those different thoughts, religions, etc. So not much would change if the earth became one country.
The states would fight among each other...
and the counties...
and the towns & cities...
and the districts...
and the schools...
and on and on and on and on.
Even if we were all one race, one religion....... we'd still find something to fight about. There will always be greed and people who will want to force their will upon those weaker than themselves. Unfortunately, that's human nature.
Let's face it..... there will never be peace on earth if left up to humans.

Nationalism and regionalism are too strong to ever let that happen. As Thomas J. ("Tip") O'Neill said, "All politics is local." If the world was ever united into one country, we would still find some fool reason to fight amongst ourselves.

Its economic structure would collapse under the sheer weight of itself and the massive amount of poverty. And it would be in a constant state of civil war as the leader of each "state" vied for power.
