when i first read that question, i thought it was about making history in the field of poverty..... as in, setting a new record. like when a new home run record is set in baseball -- "barry bonds has made home-run history tonight!!!"

but, as far as this stew you're making.... lets leave out the peas in favor of some extra celery, and it would be nice to add some bacon or something to tame the flavor a little. i imagine that those folks might tatse a little gamey.

Almost 100 billion pounds of food is wasted in America each year. 700 million hungry human beings in different parts of the world would have gladly accepted this food. America is one of the richest countries in the world. High time to dig deeper in the nations food bank! SAD. So sad!
