Yes ,I am very proud to be an American. I feel this country still offers the most opportunity to achieve ones dreams. We Americans ,as a whole, are a compassionate giving society. We have our faults ,yes, but doesn't every country? I hear people from other countries saying that we Americans are "too full of ourselves",but whats wrong with patriotic pride in ones birth place or adopted country?I am very proud to be a citizen of what I feel is the greatest country in the world. I take pride in our accomplishments but I am also not blind to our short comings.WE as a nation are not perfect but I would gladly lay down my life for what this country is based on. Freedom.

I am proud to be American. If not why are there so many immigrants want it to be American? I am Latin and I love U.S.A. I like the system. I don't understand why are people in this country that don't support America, and talk bad about American and are taking Welfare and Medical Health Insurance from the goverment for free. I don't get it.

Yes, I am. I understand that the history of the USA is mostly one of productivity, truth, accomplishment, and excellence. The USA is the first nation ever founded in which political power derived from the consent of the governed, not from the government.
Although we have taken many detours from the intent of our nation's founders, and made some horrible mistakes along the way, the USA remains the freest, most agreeable nation in which to live. But don't take my word for it; ask the millions who make their way here every year seeking a better life.
I am an American not only by birth, but also by choice.

I am proud of being a citizen of the U.S.
However, it is not in a snobby snooty kind of way where I think I am better. Rather, I feel that I am LUCKY and privileged to live here. I feel sorry for people of other countries that didn't get the opportunity that I have. However, instead of letting everybody in the world come here, I say we try to help them make their own countries better.
