It has happened several times when high winds and tornadoes have sucked the contents of ponds into the sky. (I guess Sheila needs to get out more?)

Throughout the strange history of America, there have been many bizarre instances recorded when things have fallen from the skies that simply do not belong there. There have been showers of frogs and toads, along with fish, snakes and worms. Blood has been said to fall from the heavens, as well as meat, muscle and flesh.

Yes, frogs come from the sky when it rains hard. And sometimes dogs and cats too - but you have to be quick to catch one. And when it snows, giraffes and elephants sometimes appear. That's why it is good to stay in when it snows. You could get smashed by an elephant!

There have been reports of this. The prevailing theory is that a tornado picked up the frogs, and they were deposited elsewhere. This was featured on an episode of the X-files.
