never been to any of those meself, but I believe it's because Brits generally feel 'safe' with the same food, shops, entertainment, high rise blocks, building works etc that they get at home, it's just a bit warmer and not too expensive. I was a single parent but for less than the price of a holiday in Spain we've been to France, Andorra, Malta, Italy, Bulgaria, Morocco, Tunisia and several other countries on holiday. One family in Tunisia spoilt the food experience for me and my then young children by sitting in the restaurant moaning at every meal about the lack of burgers - thank God they only stayed a week!

Because the people there have some understandings of English and that is where people that want to go and work abroad in bars etc do go and they speak English.

As possibly because there are a lot of English based places in countries like Tenerife and the nightlife is good to, you can't argue with the prices in the supermarkets either lets be fair!!

I'm English and have never been to Spain but so far I have been to most European Countries (except Spain), Scandinavia, USA, Mauritius, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, South Africa and plan to visit the far East and Australia as soon as I have saved up enough to cover the outrageous air fares.

its quick to get to,2hours by air,I dont go to spain myself I prefer france I think you are being stupid saying brits all go to spain I dont know anyone who went there in the last 18months ,fav place seems to be Egypt or Portugal at the moment, and as for high rise flats and building work there is nothing like that around most of britain,so dont judge what you dont know

probably because over the years spain has adapted itself to the british holiday maker,, you can walk in any of these resorts and have fish and chips or a full english breakfast,, so its really a home from home,, grin,, comfort zones are not stretched. grin.. I love just traveling,, i really dont care where,, as long as its away.
