Laptop or Desktop?

Desktop: The sound may have broken on your computer. It happened to my desktop. I counldn't ever fix it and I know how to do anything with computers! Try turning it off, then back on. Maybe the wires wiggled themselves out or something. Push everything back in further, because this may help. Take it to a place to be re-wired if it doesn't work, because they may be able to fix it.

Laptop: Try turning it off. If it still doesn't work, then you've got to go into the computer and re-wire it. Take it to a place where they can. You could have the sound blasted out.

Assuming that the sound was working b 4. double click on your speaker icon placed on your taskbar and the volume control window will appear, make sure that there is no check mark on the mute box of the wave or volume control indicator.
If this does not work go to control panel:
double click on the sounds and audio devices icon
on the volume tab there is a box that says " device volume"
make sure that the mute box is not checked off
click on sounds tab and go to program events and click once on the event(the word "asterisk") and click on the play button besides the sound drop down menu, if the sound plays you are set, if it does not, probably you just installed a program that is conflicting with the IRQ sound....

Problem with your sound card of course. There's also a possibility it could be your speakers so I'd suggest trying some headphones and see if they work.
