I am a teenager who will be working for a reputed newspaper(freelance).It is going to be my first day at office next week. What should I wear? It should neither be something too formal like blazers, etc , not too informal like tank tops. Please suggest some accessories .Do I need to use makeup?

For a simple yet elegant look go to Banana Republic and get their simple wrap dresses, a black one and pair it with a nice chunky bead necklace or pearls and small earings. Put your hair up and wear just eye make-up with slight shimmer like Antique GOld from Ulta. Wear some slingback shoes (black).
SECOND OPTION:
Lose khaki dress pants (Express) with a white button down shirt, pearls and earrings (nothing too dangly). Brown shoes or black shoes (sandals or slingbacks) or ballet flats in brown or neutral color. For make-up go miniumal. Sheer powder foundation. If you have a light complexion, try Almay eyeshadow trios (they have them specifically for different eye colors) curl your lashes and just add one layer of mascara. Finish off with a light perfume nothing overpowering. You don't have to wear lipstick just have some lip gloss.
Dress: Banana Republic or Nordstrom
Necklace: Carolee or for something cheaper try, charlotte ruse
Make-up: Almay (drugstores)

As a teenager, I would suggest a nice pair of slacks along with a nice blouse. Since you indicated that you have long hair, I would suggest that you may want to pull it back (in a pony tail) and dress it up a little with a nice hair accessory. I would also suggest a pair of earrings (maybe straight and dangling or ring / loop style). But I would definitely say to keep the jewelry and makeup toned down. Try not to wear too much jewelry - it's work not an evening social. Also remember that you want to make a great first impression. Don't wear any perfume that may be too strong. Make sure to be comfortable with what you choose to wear (but don't wear anything too casual to avoid looking overly relaxed on your first day).

Dress Casual will be fine. Pair a skirt or slacks with a collared shirt or a nice V-neck and definitely wear makeup. Don't wear flip flops at the office... stick to heels and flats.

You should probably wear a little makeup, since you are a teenager and you don't want to look so young that you are not taken seriously. I would suggest khaki pants or slacks and a button up shirt. It's pretty casual but it will still look together. Also, make sure you have nice looking shoes (not beat up). Good luck on your first day!

Yes makeup is very important and believe it or not so is a manicure! I couldn't believe what a big deal it was until I started working at offices and every single woman had them! I would say wear a button down shirt and slacks. That's always a pretty safe bet. Congratulations on the new job!

Go smart casual. Say, a long sleeved buttoned down blouse over a pair of straight jeans. Wear close shoes but make sure they are not bulky. As for accessories, a watch and a pair of earrings will do. :)

well u should where a pin stripe suit with a white shirt under that way u could look professional on ur first day nad no one will tink of u say a little kid and u chould put ur hair up in a soisticated pony tale or a bun to keep it out of the way while u work good luck in the office

Light casual make up, day ware,casual dress, linen or khaki pants with nice ironed button up, never can go wrong with a button up. Take a look around the office and see how everyone else is dressed you'll be able to know what to ware the next day.

The first day is really important cause the first impression is what really count so i recommend you to dress really Nice's and if you don't want to dress to formal go with a Nice's shirt does business one with black pants you can go to the new york & company store they only sell bussiness clothes u can try new york & company website.

Yup just a light makup a pink gloss and light pink on th cheeks and eyes ! you can whear a skirt blouse or a pant shirt!
