The battle for helm's deep for sure. The movie version was fantastic. The way the humans hold up was awe-inspiring.

Oh, without a doubt the "greatest" battle would have to be the siege of Mina Tirith. It had all the elements of an epic struggle. Seldom do you ever see even on screen armies of that size clashing in an all out war of good versus evil. With the gigantic olephants (and I know I probably spelled that wrong), colossal armies, daring cavalry and even a touch of the supernatural (army of the dead) it made for not only the greatest battle in the lord of the rings trilogy, but indeed cinema history. ( On a side not though I would like to say that one of my favorite battles in addition was the battle of the black gates. That takes massive balls to fight an enemy so many times your own number with almost certain death so you can buy time for someone who may not even still be alive. )

The battle in Minas Tirith. Grand-scale battle with epic proportions.

What comes next is the battle at Helm's Deep. and i think all of you know why. Pulse-pounding, breath-taking battle between good and evil.

Battle of Helm's Deep..it seemed more realistic and it was on a more personal level because
1. they were so out-numbered
2. it was the last battle to honor the alegence between men and elves (movie version)
3. they weren't even warriors, they were farmer boys and what not
4. it was more humorous

Helm's Deep. It was the most intense, especially as far as emotions go. There is just so much pent up fear and dread that you can feel it.
