because mountain is high and at top the effect of heat is less than on land and also the cold this all happpen due to breeze which flow its all geography

there is less atmosphere above the mountain to hold in the heat.. so it cools off faster... or does not heat up as much.

It's called the "atmospheric lapse rate" and the higher (to a point) you go the colder it gets.
