well, typically, they hate our goverment, not us. most people dont like a person who goes around telling people how to live, and our government has stuck its nose into lots of other places in the world doing just that, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes not. but regardless, if it happened to you, you wouldnt like it one bit and neither would i. so, thats why they "hate the USA". as someone who's been to other parts of the world, i can tell you its not a lie. they really dont like what our government does to other nations.
it seems to me that the whole world sucks, the USA just sucks the least. lol. ...... or maybe canada.

The reason so many people hate America is because we send troops to so many places in the world that they don't want us, our corporations go to all kinds of countries and take natural resources while supporting regimes the people living there don't want in power. They hate the U.S. governement and our corporations, I would think they would be angry at the people for letting our leaders get into power and then come to their homeland and help set up unpopular governments so they can profit more from oil dealings.
In Arab countries, these views are commonly heard from the more extreme religious groups, and the people that support them. That doesn't mean everyone in a certain country would hate the U.S. though. Look at Iraq, some of them want the U.S. there, and some of them are absolutely against it.

They are perceived as:
poking their heads here and there;
interfering with other nations' businesses when they've got enough problems for their own;
judging and criticizing other nations based on their standards;
thinking they are the messiah of human kind when in fact they are just as evil as the countries they accuse;
most citizens are too ignorant to care what their government are doing to peoples of the rest of the world
In Chinese there is a proverb that if translated literally goes like this: Keep doing evil things and eventually you will destroy yourself.
I'm not anti-american, but i really don't like sme of the things the americans are doing.

Your question caught my eye, [My thoughts, as you asked what we think] To keep more people from coming here. Yes, we have it so bad. Would you want to live in a place that people hate? Spread the word. LOL
I think it is because we have our freedoms, our women don't have to be cowards to men, we have our freedom of speech. We can wear what we want, do what we want providing it isn't illegal, illecit, or immoral. In other countries a man might get 2 days in jail for torturing his wife, whereas here, they can't get away with it, we have laws to protect citizens. We have child labor laws, they don't. Somehow, their religion gets mixed in; whereas here, there is a separation between religion & state & federal law. Somedays, this world we live in sucks, but if it didn't suck, we would all fall off. Keep the ball rolling.... Hope this helps.

Because there are people out there that "hate" america for one reason or another. There are also people lined up trying to come to live in america, so take it with a grain of salt.

No, they dislike George W. Bush. The Bush administration is corrupt, and most other world leaders/etc. don't agree with his "beliefs."
Another reason why people may dislike Americans is something I saw firsthand in Europe this year--Americans, compared to others, are quite impatient and usually rude when visiting other countries. The word spreads quite fast about that sort of thing.

I don't hate American's. I do believe your way of life is not necessarily the way we all wish to live. Howard is so far up Bushes clacker that he aint ever going to see day light but I think thats more of a bad reflexion on our Prime Minister than it is on your country or Politics.

It may not be as bad as people think, but I sure hear a lot about it. I hear the British are upset at us, and the way most people talk about the French over here, I would be surprised if any of them care about the U.S. anymore.
