We must face reality, we are never going beyond our solar system and we are never going to the "heart of the earth". There are countless factors making it completetly impossible for man ever to cross those set barriers.

There were countless reasons why man could never fly as well. Don't underestimate human spirit and ingenuity. Getting to the moon was a truely astonishing technical accomplishment. Given the technology of the time even more so. Resolve and hard work will solve the problems in traveling beyond our solar system. Necessity is a big driver and a great start will be colonies on other planets. Colonies elsewhere will also be a great insurance policy for the survival of the human race.

Second, of the millions of UFO reports each year I believe a few might just be Aliens. If they can solve the problem of faster than light travel so can we. Not only can we, we MUST as humanity is not called a race for nothing. We are in the far off boondocks of the universe. The deep woods you might say. We are already eons behind the center of the universe. Eventually those systems will begin to fail and our neighborhood is going to look like a great place for new suberbs. We have to be technologically able to stand up and defend ourselves when that time comes.

Did my previous answer disappear? You're right, we'll never send robots to Mars that will work for well over a year, we'll never put people on the moon or keep people on a space station or send probes outside of our solar system. We'll never even reach earth orbit, or break the sound barrier. We'll never fly either. It's all too silly to even consider. Let's just sit here and wait for the next asteroid to hit us.

The barriers are great. But we can be great too, when we get our act together.

hmmm... and man will never be able to fly,.. or go more than 100 ft underwater.. and man will die if he goes into space.. and.. hmmm... we'll just have to sit here and do nothing.. since we can't do it all yet

If we have enough time.. we will be able to travel outside our solar system.... or maybe even to the center of the earth!!!
