How much does it cost to replace a windshield?

About two weeks ago a rock chips and crack my windshield about 2 inch , now the crack about 10 inches. do i need to replace it or can it be repaired?

If you have full coverage insurance you insurance company may do it for free.

We paid $225. for our 88 silverado.

Well I assume you are in Texas! Unless the windshield is damaged so that it blocks your vision, you should be fine with the law officials. The cost of replacement depends on the type of windshield. Glass is priced depending on how hard it is to produce. The more the window is curved or shaped the higher the cost. You should check around for prices you may find a big difference in cost.

Yes you should replace it soon. Newer cars actually depend on the strength of your windshield especially in an accident. Call around and make sure they use PPG or another known brand and offer a good warranty, shoudlnt be more than 400 bucks max.

also check with insurance company if you have comp and collison on u'r car sometimes they fix without paying dectiable...I paid 275 for my nissan and they fixed it in front of my house.
