when the person is hugging you, they will turn their head to the side to show it is just friendly, but if it is to show affection, the person will look into your eyes and smile while they are hugging you

If its one hand under the arm, one hand over your arm - then its friendly .
If not, then more details are needed for interpretation.
How long the hug was for is also usually a dead give away.

sometimes, if the person is not trying to hug you hard(becuase they want to respect you) they might like you or if it's a really short hug they might be shy towards you.

im a touchy feely person, its in my nature, i hug everyone i greet if i sense they would accept that. As for it being more...can honestly say no in my case.
