People origianally came to America basically to be left alone, or to avoid some kind of persecution, religious, governmental, or otherwise. In my opinion the "American Dream" is "Don't Bother Me!"

I suppose you mean the USA. That is the United States of America. We are united for a common cause. What is that common cause? What should that common cause be?

Whatever else someone might answer for this question, I believe the USA should be united for the common cause of developing our relationship with God and Godly Virtues.

If we do not fully understand godly virtues such as charity, truth, self-control, mercy, cleanliness, etc. Then we need to use our resources to make investigation, research and study to determine the meaning of godly virtues.

I believe the American Dream is to be united for a common ideal cause.

seems to me its mostly greed based - most money - biggest car - biggest house etc...

this, from a world stand point, is totally selfish and wrong.

Americans are raping the planet - consuming resources at enormous rates - and effectively "stealing from the poor to give to the rich"

I dont think many Americans are smart enough to realize what they are doing and what the long term effect will be - unfortunately I dont often hear them say "lets live and be happy with less"

A frighteningly effective method of maintaining the status quo by convincing everyone that it's the individual's fault, not society or the way it's structured, if that person isn't 'successful.'

To be debt free, financially independent--work only cause you enjoy work and not for the money, have your money making money in investments(401k, mutual funds, .......) maybe own a small business.

Btw---Home ownership is overated. One can own everything and still have a mortage or rent.

I'd personally own everything and use an LLC to "own" all property.
