To whom do we owe their inconvenience and time? I have found people were responsible for 90 odd percent of my problems, so I don't have them in my circle anymore. My life is easier for it. My 'virtual' contacts are quite sufficient, thank you.

My own feeling is that most people are afraid of thinking for themselves, and subsequently tend to ostracize people who think they can. Look at all the questions on this site alone that are some variation of 'Am I doing the right thing?'.
There may not be much room for company in a location like yours, but I'll bet the view is amazing. Sheep don't graze on mountaintops.
