Hi all,

anyone else have problem with kids that live nearby setting off fireworks? I came home last night to my apartment, and as I came to the door noticed a lot of burn marks and pieces of explosive fireworks right close to my front door. I assume that nearby kids lit these off when I was gone. I looked around and didn't see them anywhere else but at my area. I talked to my apartment security personnel just to see if they have had complaints about this and they said no. I do hear fireworks still being lit off from time to time the past month.

I really can't do anything because I don't know who did it and I don't know if any rules were broken, certainly it could have been a fire hazard as it was pretty closely set off to the wooden front door. Should I talk to apartment management about this? Not that they can do anything about it, but maybe it was a one time thing and just blow it off? What do you think?

Darn Kids!!!! Yep, it the way it is. Guess I did a few things with Fireworks when I was one. My dad taught us to never shoot them at houses, cars, or people. So, we never did shoot them at houses or cars. Hey, two out of three not bad. We did have Firework wars with each other, man that was a real "Blast"! Our shirts would have little burn holes in them, but, no one was ever hurt. We did use good judgment, even in war. But, maybe we were taught different, and again, maybe the kids today are still safe. We just not see how they doing. Maybe they had a war!

Not actually a problem at my front door, but we ahve neighbours that let them off several times a week right next door. The sparks land in our yard and on our roof. They do it anytime of the day and night anytime of the year. I have found used firworks in our backyard as well.
I have reported it to the police on two occassions, but unless I give my name so that they can prove it, they won't do anything.
I don't want to come home to a burnt out house, but I also don't want to come home and find that they have poisoned my dogs or something horrible like that because they know I have reported them. It's a tough one and I hope you have better luck than me.

next year stay home and make the complaint to the police or apartment security when it happens. As you say you can not do anything without knowing who did it.
