I had a type of diabetes when I was pregnant with my fourth child. I can't remember the name of it. Anyway, I never gained a pound my whole 9months. And then when my son was born I weighed less. I was loosing and the baby was growing at the same time. My son was 7lbs and healthy. I had to keep my blood sugar monitored and eat a good diet with a certain amount of calories.

Yes, I have in 3 of my 6 pregnancies. I guess that was partially due to morning sickness, etc. Another reason was that in those 3 pregnancies, I was overweight to start with--when I found out I was pregnant I began eating a healthier diet, and therefore lost a bit of weight. I lost between 5 and 15 pounds in the early stages of those pregnancies.

I lost 10 pounds and I was sick I had the childhood disease "Fifth Disease" and the baby could have died from it but there is nothing that they can give you they give have to give you ultasound tests and keep going for checkups more then you should during a regular pregnancy and from then on I was considered high rick pregnancy. I also heard that sometimes it normal to lose weight during the first few months during a normal pregnancy. You should call the doctor and get looked at just in case though you dont want to take any risks.

I lost 10 to 15 pounds in the first trimester of each pregnancy. It wasn't morning sickness or anything, my body just did it. I ate the same, I was just as active. It actually made me really happy because it was that much more weight I'd not have to lose after the birth.

its actually perfectly normal to lose weight in your first trimester, since thats when morning sickness and fatigue is the highest.

Ive heard of women losing 5-12 pounds, so long as you're not at risk of becoming too thin, i dont believe doctors do much more than watch your hydration levels and encourage you to eat.

if you are pregnant and are losing weight from sickness, try taking a b6 vitamin. My doctor told me about it, and amazingly enough it actually helps. You take 25 mg three times a day. You can also take half a unisom tab at night if you're not sleeping, the combonation of the two helps great for the hormonal sickness.

I lost about 30 lbs when I was pregnant with my second child.I think it had alot to do with the mental hopes I had about not gaining a bunch of weight as with my first pregnancy. But my daughter did have a lower birth weight then my first. She was 5lbs 11oz,where my son was 7lbs 91/2oz.Don't know if it was the cause or just the sex of the children makeing the difference here???Stress, excercise ect..can all play apart in this.If you feel like it is excessive weight lose or are worried, ask your OB,they can check things and let you know.Hope this helps

For me, I lost weight because I was so sick. I have friends that have had the same experience. Morning sickness can really take the weight off, whether it needs to come off or not, and make it difficult to want to eat anything, especially when it lasts 24/7 for months! I have actually had friends that have had to be hospitalized and IV'd because they were so ill into the later stages. Did that help?

Yes, during my first couple months when i didn't even know I was pregnant. I was eating like you wouldn't believe but losing weight (about 5 pounds). I did not have morning sickness either. Once I found out I was pg I asked my doc about it and he said that the fetus jus needed a lot of energy - even in that early stage.

I lost like 20 pounds the first 4-5 and just gain like 5 if not more of if back. All due to severe morning sickness.

i have been pg 5 times and have 4 healthy almost adult children. in each of my pgs i would gain a couple then lose a couple. its natural if you are active. i hated my best Friends Dr who told her she needed to gain 65 pds to have a healthy child. what a crock. during the end of the pg you should be gaining a pd or two every couple of weeks since the baby is putting on weight to be born.

if you are eating healthy and active, i would not worry about losing a few pounds. my doctor told me that with my first. in each pg i only gained 12 to 15 pounds through out the pg and none of my children ever had really bad illnesses or birth defects
Praise the Lord!

be sure and listen to your obgyn and if you are losing too much weight, tell them, there may be a medical problem like diabetes or something. but aside from that, ENJOY your pregnancy!

blessings,
lily
