Chances are they are not allowed in your country.

These fish are not painted - a cruel practice.
They are genetic freaks- they had jelly fish genes injected into their eggs. Most countries have a hard time welcoming genetically modified pets. It is frivolous and we don't fully understand the consequences. What if someone swallows one (not likely, they cost a ton) but never the less. What if they are released?

Last of all- is it ethical? Some people may say it is just a fish (I don't but..). What if they were doing it to dogs, horses. People are considering this and recognize a need for legeslation. It is a unique situation and there is nothing in place yet. At least in the U.S. it does not clearly fall under any of our watch groups (FDA or EPA who knows?).

The UK authorities are considering banning the import of these fish, as they are just injected with a compound to make them glow
