No and if you do then use very hot water so that the grease will melt down the drain without clog it up.

Ive just answered a Q from Moose60 about this issue. NO GREASE should be dumped in any drain.

Eventual consequences will be a buildup in the plumbing, added to by other debris. The grease will cool, find pockets, protrusions, rough spots, and cling. Hot or boiling water may help in the plumbing closest to where you pour it, but trust me, eventually it cools and stops.

What would be the problem with saving some paper cups, hot cups, and pouring ANY grease into it, letting it cool and disposing of it in the kitchen trash can. It's something I've done for years, and the effort is so minor.

I've always poured bacon grease down my sink. You have to run your hot water until it's as hot as possible while doing pouring it so the grease doesn't congeal and cause a clog in the drain and let the hot water run for a minute after you are done to clear everything out.

No. The grease will eventually build up inside the trap as it thickens and builds up. I've seen drains reduced from 1.5" to 3/4" due from a build up of grease.

I guess it's safe, but it can clog your drain.I usually use like an old coffee can to put mine in.If you are going to pour it in the drain, make sure you run hot water down your drain after you pour the grease.♥

I was always told not to put it down the drain. Because it will harden and clog. Now I just put it in a can to pitch at a later time, or in a bowl in the fridge to harden and then throw in the garbage.

I would do it only with a garbage disposal, hot water and dish soap. Doing it without a disposal could very well lead to clogs, which of course can be dissolved with a Drano-like product. My advice would be to chill the grease, then put it in your garbage.

Not really, no. It tends to coagulate and block the drain. Best thing is to just throw it in trash, but make sure to let it cool first. Another thing is, it is really good in green beans, pinto beans, etc. Save it in a sealed jar, and put some into your beans to add flavor.

Not really but if you do put it down make sure you run hot water first during and after you pour it down helps it to stay warmer and go farther

No, when it cools it will harden and clog. Pour it in a container, let it cool and harden, and throw it in the trash.
