The guy is on pace for a .290, 34HR, and 120RBIs.. how is that boo worthy? If you check with the Elias Sports Bureau he has the most hits that resulted in go ahead runs in the majors. Yes he has 13 errors at 3rd, but the guy is capable of turning a 2 month stint as error free at 3rd.

I think A-Rod does NOT deserve to be booed. The Yankee fans are supposed to be supporting him not harassing him. I heard A-Rod talk with reporters once after a Yankee game and they asked him, "Does the booing put more pressure on you?" And A-Rod said, "Yes. I'm trying to do the best I can but, the fans don't understand that the booing puts a lot of pressure on me. Hopefully, they'll stop soon." So, Yankee fans, PLEASE STOP BOOING A-ROD AND START SUPPORTING HIM!!"

No-when you decide to enter into a contract that pays you nearly 27 mil per year, the fans are going to expect the absolute highest level of performance. A-Rod is pretty darn good, but I don't think you can say he is the best player in baseball this year. This year as of today (82 games into the season), he is hitting .288 with 19 homers and 65 RBIs (plus 13 errors), which is excellent, but not worthy of 27 mil.

Furthermore, A-Rod doesn't have much in the way of charisma. He can lead the team by the way he plays, but is not really much of a clubhouse leader. Fans like those intangibles and A-Rod just doesn't have it. Fans like players who are emotional. For instance in my home town of Philly, Mike Schmidt was never well liked despite being perhaps the best 3rd baseman of all time. They preferred players like Pete Rose and Lenny Dykstra, because of their gritty play and emotion that seemed to inspire their teammates.

I think fans today appreciate guys like David Ortiz (who is Mr. Clutch) and Miguel Tejada who give 100% and pump up their team over guys like A-rod and Barry Bonds who are all-time players, but are more introverted.

The bottom line is that A-Rod is going to be one of the all time best players. However, his salary is like having a 100 pound weight around his neck, and unless he delivers some World Series titles to NY, he will be considered a failure. He needs to show some fire and leadership, not just that he is one of the greatest hitters in the game.

Overpaid in a city of classless fans...what do you think was going to happen? Every team needs a scapegoat. I thought Yank fans would scapegoat The Unit for their limited success thus far, but that dude killed a living creature at a game this season and the guy goes $%cking nuts on the mound and in the dugout whenever he struggles....so I think he's got people scared he might start chucking 95+mph (well prob more like 89 mph now a days) fastballs at em in the stands.

This guys hits homeruns. I see over 10 guys in the American League alone I'll take over Arod on my team. 26 Million a year to hit 50 hr and bat .285???? Jim Thome, Travis Hafner, David Ortiz,Manny Ramirez, Vlad Guerrero, Paul Konerko should all ask for a raise.

No. He is the highest paid player ever, playing on a team that demands excellence from all of its players. He is expected to perform above and beyond all other players in the league. He also is not a clutch player. He usually hits his late inning homeruns with his team up or down by so many runs that his homeruns do not make a difference.

Because he plays for the Yankees. its known that the Yankees fans expect so unfairly much from a player.I dont think they realize he is human. for any other team, his numbers would be fine. but since he plays for the Yankees...he gets booed.

but then again,he does get paid so ridiculously much, and the Fans do pay his salary,so i guess they do have the right to boo if they feel he's not playing up to his potential...

no. when you have a 252 million dollar contract, and you cannot help your team win a world series (0 RBIs last playoffs), you should be booed. he will continue to be booed in the bronx until he wins a ring with the yanks.

to the person who posted that any team with arod is cursed, i dont remember Seattle or Texas winning anything after giving up Arod, so that theory is crap.

Although I hate the Yankees, and I hate A-Rod, i do think he's being unfairly booed. He is honestly one of the best players out there, and he doesn't slack off. Yankee fans are the best worst fans in the world. The love you when you produce and they hate you when you slump.

Yes. Granted, he has a huge contract and therefore expectations will be high. But he is one of the best players in the game today. Yankee fans are notorious for turning on their players anytime they hit a down stretch.

Last Wednesday, he hit a game-winning, 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th (I think).
The very next at-bat, he was viciously booed after failing to get a hit.

No one can bat 1.000...

Definitly NOT,

1. any team with A-Rod is cursed, so of course he is booed (look at his history with team) any team he was one could win the Series, but once they got rid of him, it worked

Well, I am a Met fan, and thats my opinion
