IUD is treated as a foreign body, and our body tries to throw away, natural reaction. This requires extra supply of blood, if liver not in good condition, cramps is the result. Remove IUD and cramps will go in maximum a week. Have you done research on side effects of IUD

I was looking at getting the new IUD (merina?) and it's paperwork said I could have cramps and heavy bleeding for a 3-6 MONTH adjustment period.

Did the doc give you any paperwork? Look at that, if not, call them and ask.

It may be hormonal.

The #1 hormone - because it can affect the production of all the other hormones - is insulin. Ask your doctor for a fasting insulin blood test . Ask for a copy of your results. 10 or higher is abnormal for an adult.

Also ask for a saliva test. This test will tell you if any of your feminine hormones are not at the best levels. I do not like doctors who prescribes things without testing first.

Your symptoms (all of them) could be related to low blood sugar. You may want to check out www.hufa.org, and click on the symptoms link to check yourself out.
