In India everything is politics and you need to have allies at right places to do big. Ganguly doens't have allies instead have foes at critical posts. The path to comeback will become less thorny after 3 months when More retires but still he will have Chappel to cope with. I guess it would be hard for him and I am sorry for the same.

I don't think so India's place for Ganguly:
India need:
1> Dravid 2> Sehwag 3> Yuvraj 4> Kaif 5> Dhoni 6> Pathan 7> Agarkar 8> Sreesanth 9> Harbhajan 10> Kumble 11> Munaf or also:
12> RP SIngh 13> Jaffer 14> Utthapa 15> Raina
How can Dravid & Greg handle so many players? If Ganguly adds to the list it will be atleast 20 indian cricketers pushing each other to form 11

Ganguly has the chance to force the selectors' hand with his performances for Northamptonshire. Most of the people who are fighting for the same place are good fielders - like Yuvraj, Raina, Kaif; on the other hand you can say Ganguly can send down a few overs but is definitely a liability in the field. He would have to put up a string of exceptional batting performances if he hopes to push his way back in. As they say, "impossible is nothing". :)
Please remember that this team has just won a series in the West Indies, which could easily have been 2-0 or 3-0 in the end. They must be doing something right. Personally I think Tendulkar-Ganguly is still the best opening combination for the ODIs. I hope I get to see if they can still do the job, because I believe they can.
Good luck to the Prince of Kolkata!

Eventhough he got many records and many other things, currently he is in his bad time.
Even if he gets in to form there is very tough competition in the indian side. So it is not that much easy for him to get a chance in international level.

Chappel didn't want Sourav because of his indiscipline. Incidentally, Sourav's trying to make a comeback through politics rather than his performance!
