italy. on the defence side it's too hard to break through cannavaro and buffon. and the italians do not depend solely on one or two individuals (like zidane, henry and viera for france) to score.

Basically, they have more youthful plaers in their first team and their goalkeeper Buffon is much more agile than the aging Barthez who has butter fingers. Aim a hard shot at Barthez and he would mishandle the ball...
If France win, I'd have every reason to believe that it was in Penelties.
