The best bet is to take a sample of your water to a local pool store to have it tested before you can proceed with a cure.

Pour some algae guard in, you can get it at any pool store, then shock it with superchlorinated shock. Use twice the recommended amount. Check it on the next day and shock it again if its still brown. Keep cleaning the filter as often as possible and run it all day long if possible.

what ever you do dont take a sample into a pool store...they will have you spending way more money than you need to. shock it, run your filter, do you have a good filter? i bought a pool and it came with a filter but it ended up the filter was not big enough to correctly filter the water.i was having the same problems my pool would be nasy looking i bought a sand filter and my pool has been crystal clear all year.

buy water shock and shock the crap out of it, then the next day, get water clarifiers to clear up the cloudiness...there you go

put lots and lots of clorene in it the shock it..... to keep it clean try to put new clorene puck in every time the other one runs out
