The death penalty is uncivilised and backwards, the civilised world got rid of it years ago.
Anyway its a much worse penalty to have a long term prison sentance than know you will soon be executed. If you had to know every day you would wake up to know freedom it would be a horrible punishment compared with the freedom of death.
And Britain does HAVE the death penalty for treason, we still employ someone who will hang people who commit treason (though I doubt they would do it anyway :/)

The judicial system is so soft on all criminals however the local councils are tough on a woman feeding the birds with bread crumbs, fining her £50 for LITTERING. Will the judges be able to enforce the death penalty? I think not! Maybe the councillors should be given the chance.

You have stolen my question from yesterday, John B. LOL.
Capital and Corporal Punishment should never have had been abolished in the UK.
Of course innocent people had been executed by the criminal justice system, due to false evidence laid before the jury.
What`s needed is a Criminal Justice System based on the Islamic Penal Code, with its punishment scale.
That would scare the living daylights out of all felons no matter their crime.

Crime would go down.
Executives don't mind stealing £2,000,000 from companies to get caught banged up for 1 year and freed with the money, because you can't earn £2,000,000 in a year while having your housing paid and luxury accommodation paid for by the tax payer. However you kill a few of the harder criminals and people start to think a little harder before committing a crime.

I'd love to say yeah go for it, kill all the pedo's, murderers, terrorists but think of all the people that still get locked up incorrectly. Furthermore, look at all the people wrongly killed in USA and China. Surely we're better than that. No way... well, maybe bring back public humiliation for terrorists though.

YES they should,i think they should have death row like america, people who kill other people and perverted men that touch children,as they say life when given there time but not all do life, there would be a lot more room in the prisons, and it would cost less to run them.....i think people that kill should be killed

The death penalty might not be a deterrent, but by God it's a bloody good punishment.

And anyone who disagrees, hope you never lose anyone to a nonce who's been released early! Bout time we started changing our priorities and protecting our kids.
