who said there is no oil in Africa, as we talk scientist have found huge deposits of oil in the coast of east africa, another thing there is diamond and gold in africa, so that sould give america the reason to invade us. and in the process though they will also still but it will teach our leaders a lesson.

He has no concern with the real issues. That, to me is very stupid. I dont see how he got elected 2 times. But, i cant vote, so what can i do?!

I think it was wrong to invade Iraq and that it's wrong that any country invade an other. I know how frustrated you must feel, right now I am in Venezuela and this is the most corrupt government we've ever had. We as a society have made manifestations, general nation wide strikes, even elections (there was fraud by the government) but still we haven't been able to get rid of Chavez. After Iraq happened I also sometimes wanted the Americans to come here (we do have oil). But we together are the ones who have to change our governments, and not expect someone else is going to save us.

Why would we want to invade Africa? Africa has never been a threat to the U.S.A. We can not force democracy on the rest of the world. We don't even have democracy in The United States any more the Government just wants us to think we do.

Unless I'm mistaken Africa does not have the oil wealth like Iraq.
Democracy is the front in which the United States hides behind to justify the invasion. It is simply about protecting the wealth of Saudi Arabia,Bahrain, and other oil wealthy countries in the region. I spent 13 months in the region, Iraqis could care less about democracy, the invasion of Iraq has solved nothing.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. You dont teach people anything by invading them, and democracy cannot be forced on anyone. America didnt invade Iraq to teach them a damned thing, or to force democracy. We invaded Iraq to get rid of Saddam and his henchmen, and to attempt to provide more stability to the region. Saddam was notorious for invading his neighbors and using WMDs to kill them off. And you know what he did to his own people.
Yes, African countries are full of corruption, but so is Mexico. So is many Latin American Countries. So are many Asian countries. Corruption is a worldwide thing. There is corruption throughout the USA government.
I dont like whats happening in Darfur, Somalia, and many such countries, while the United Nations sits and watches. The ethnic cleansing continues by Arab muslims as they exterminate black africans (many of which are muslims too). Yes, something should be done, but not by the U.S. alone. All countries under the U.N. should get involved and fight this together for it to work. The real fight there is not against corrupt governments, its something that our p.c. world refuses to acknowledge. The war is really against Islam.

I am dumbfounded by the idea that democracy can be fostered in Africa at the end of a gun. One doesn't have to look very far for a verification of this - how about Iraq? How about the very history of Africa itself?
Try with the building blocks of education, poverty alleviation, job creation, basic health care..... Not some 19th century idea about might making right . Ah, and with the examples of Western powers making alliances with the very same corrupt leaders that you complain about.

I don't think America invaded Iraq because we wanted to teach them democracy, I think we invaded Iraq because we perceived their terrorist training camps as a threat to our way of life. (Whether that threat perception was based on accurate intelligence or otherwise is not for me to say.)
Honestly, I think the full-scale military action on Iraq was a mistake (it is, after all, never easy to send in soldiers to fight terrorists who look just like civilians and exhibit a complete lack of scruples about using civilians as bargaining chips in their war games!), and I certainly would not recommend an invasion of Africa. Heck, we now need to finish Iraqi operations before planning more invasions, anyway.
I think our purposes would have been better served by covert operations in Iraq than by full-scale military operations. We could stand to learn a thing or two from Mossad.
Invade North Korea, if anywhere.

the U. S. spends better in Africa than the different usa in the international. Even Africans will allow you to understand this. My husband is African, doesn't like Bush, yet will allow you to understand that the U. S. has helped his usa better than the different usa. examine it out. There are records in this. also, if the UN had listened to the U. S. better than 15 years in the past, the Sudan doesn't be the mess it truly is ideal this second. i imagine perchance the U. S. must have all started flouting UN decrees a lengthy time period in the past. To thrteenthtwist. you're very, very incorrect about the French. look at each and each and every of the former French colonies in Africa, and then look at the former British ones. which of them have the better infrastructures? My husband is from a former French colony. They got here in, took what they needed, did not difficulty the locals too a lot, yet left no legacy yet poorly drawn borders and inequalities. also, the UN has blown it in Liberia. Sexual abuse between UN help workers there is rampant. UN peacekeepers are also annoying sex from the locals. back, the U. S. has finished better for Africa than the different usa. examine it out. by technique of how, Africa does have oil. in reality Nigeria is busily siphoning it off from its neighboring international places as we style.

I think we should stop trying to make the entire world be like us. It is good for us, but won't necessarily work everywhere. In addition, the people in a country have to want it in order for it to work. You can't force democracy on people. They have to participate, and work on it themselves, too. We had help, but a majority of people passionately wanted democracy. I think you are right, that if we went into Iraq, we have to go elsewhere to make ourselves consistent. But I also don't think we should have gone into Iraq to impose democracy.
