I've been on amazon for a while trying to hunt down the best player for me based on this criteria

Between £100-£130
not an ipod
between 4-10gb of memory
video + photo would be nice but not a necessity
either no software or damn easy to use sofware
nice menu scrolling thing that I won't yell at

I've whittled it down to the three in the question as my best finds so far. Please tell me of any good/bad experiences with any of these players or if you know of any better players than these ones

After looking at them on Yahoo! Shopping, first I'd eliminate the Sandisk as it is more expensive than the other two for roughly the same features.

Between the Creative and the iRiver, I lean toward the Creative because my daughter has one and she loves it. She was saving for an iPod and I urged her to research it and buy a cheaper player that had the same capacity as what she wanted and she was glad she spent less and has been happy with the player. She is computer savvy, so I don't know if it is easy, but she uses hers just fine.

The iRiver looks good in this comparison because I found one for the same price as the Zen and it has 20GB instead of 8GB. (Sandisk had only 6!)

I don't have any experience with the iRiver, but I suggest you go to a computer shop or consumer electronic shop and hold them in your hand to get the feel of them. Ask if you can turn them on and try the controls, look through the menus. Then make your own decision.

I would choose the iRiver with the info I have because of the capacity to price ratio!

The Sandisk Sansa e270 is great, but kind of expensive for 6GB. The advantage it has over the others is it's a flash player. No moving parts, so it's MUCH more durable. I have an e260 which is the 4GB version of this, and it's very easy to use. Video is also a plus.

If the e270 is out of your price range, get the Creative Zen Micro Photo. It doesn't have video like the e270 and it has a hard drive, but it also has very good sound quality.

The iRiver H10 has a touch-ish pad that will drive you nuts, so don't get it.

The Sandisk gamers at the instant are not severe priced. I actually have one. the present cost is 2GB for $one hundred and fifty, 4GB for $2 hundred, and 6GB for $270. (ok, the 6GB is severe priced.) New cost drops because they are liberating a 8GB flash e200 quickly. i got here upon the e200 is lifeless undemanding to apply and has an really stylish layout. interior of 10-quarter-hour of starting the container, I had placed song on it and changed into navigating by using the menus. those with Nanos regretting getting one even as they talked concerning the e200's video playback. The FM and recording effective factors are accessible and artwork decently. photos regarded crisp and video were suprisingly delicate for 15fps. The reveal is really brilliant in case you position it on the utmost placing. you should use it as a flashlight, no kidding. I even haven't any journey with the Micro photo, although.
