I think it's a waste of time. I'm fairly certain the players who've just given there all to get to the final feel that the 3rd Place game is a waste of space.

The third place is the World Cup final of those who could not make it to the final round: in this case, Portugal vs Germany.
FIFA has to decide who comes in third and forth place, and a match is the way to find out

I think it should be played...
Although the prize money is the same, in terms of ranking, recognition/acclaim or the medal, the 3rd is always the best.
