do you feel that doctors spread out their diagnosis of a your problem over several visits. The more visits the more co-pays and the more money they collect from you and the insurance companies. It feels like they want in and out very quickly . Does anybody else feel that way too, let me know.

Man, isn't that the truth! I have found you have better luck going to webMD and diagnosing yourself first, so you can tell your doctor what's wrong with you on your first visit.

No, not really. Actually, medicine is considered a "practice", because it's not an exact science. What may work for you, may not work for someone else. That is the problem. Couple that with the fact that a doctor's malpractice insurance costs more than most of us make a year, plus medical supplies and instruments are automatically expensive in costs. So a doctor has to be very careful, and order all kinds of tests and procedures just to confirm that a person has a specific type of condition or disease. Then their next job is to treat that condition or disease successfully, keeping in mind that the same treatments or medicines don't work on everybody. Many diseases can mimic other problems....so they also have to be a detective, a scientist, a therapist...besides being a husband and father. People seem to forget that doctors are people too, and sometimes they make mistakes...so this is another reason why they confirm and reconfirm diagnosises.........so they don't get sued by every Tom, Dick and Harry that's out there. I've been in EMS for over 25 years now, and I have nothing but respect for them.

No, I think you are wrong. Most docs are busier than they want to be. Sometimes it takes time to diagnose and solve a problem. With the way way people sue doctors for malpractice, they need to cover all their bases and have good follow-up. And, for your information, doctors do not collect that much from the insurance company for follow-up.

I agree that "most docs" are in and out of the room in a flash. Remember, you are paying him to do a job for you. Have a list of questions that you would like answers to easily available to refer to. Tell the doc that you are not finished talking to him. Don't be afraid of him, he may thinks he's God but he is just a mere mortal. Ask him about the treatment you recieve and the necessity of the frequent visits. If you get no satisfaction, change docs !

They need to pay the country club, boat maintenance, Hummer, new plasma, entertainment center, etc. They will be happy to have you back in the office every month for routine check up.

Well.. how do you think they get rich? Its just a strategy. some Gps are still quite patient orientated but hard to find those kinds nowadays.

um duh they just want your money
they just give you alittle medicine so you will keep coming back for more when they notice you are getting suspicious they give you your full subscription
