Your question implies two foundational questions: "What is the nature of God?" and "What purpose do humans serve?" We have created games which allow us to be in charge, to have god-like control of our creatures. When we tire of the game, we can wipe it out and start over. Or we can just neglect it. Is that the way that God treats his creation?
The fact that humans continue to exist over hundreds of thousands of years, essentially unchanged in behavior, suggests that God is a great deal more patient than we are. If God is so patient, why is this so? It must be that God has different goals for his creation than we do for ours. It seems that he allows us to continue to exist not to satisfy his need to control, but rather so that we get the opportunity to discover and know God.
So what are we supposed to be doing in life? God created us for relationships. We are put here to know each other, know God, and enjoy the diversity of life.

I was actually thinking about asking this, but couldn't figure out where to put it.
It could be true, since no one really knows. We could just be a bunch of people in a computer simulation for a bunch of aliens.
I guess we have it figured out if we go too far and we hit an invisible wall. :P

Actually, one could also say "I am experiencing an emotion".
