India do have a football team. It's just that they are not good enough to leave any mark. They were badly beaten in qualifiers. It will take a century more for india to make it to the world cup.
Money is the basic problem. Indian football Association doesn't have as many sponsors as the cricket associations. Even people doesn't know the football players except, I guess, Baichung Bhutia. Cricket players can earn millions thru ads but football ones are not so lucky. Government needs to aid financially. Esp. We need a good foreign coach.

INDIA has a football team but in Asia, they are just not good enough to compete against the giant teams of Asia. they may be champions in South Asia, but in Asia they are well behind other teams. field hockey & cricket are the main sports in INDIA & football is only third choice in INDIA!!

i moved round lots even as i become too youthful to keep in mind so there are an excellent style of communities I loved turning out to be up. My relations is from San Diego yet we lived in Chicago besides so I grew up liking the Bears yet not the right age to keep in mind the Chargers. i'd continually root for any California crew regardless so i become satisfied seeing the 49er dynasty of the 80s and 90s. yet as I moved to our very last destination turning out to be up, i quite keep in mind my aunt giving me a Yankees jacket as a going away present to Connecticut. The Yankees were destined to be my admired baseball crew as i grew up from a boy to a guy. I observed each and every thing become accurate with lengthy island and each and every thing become incorrect with Boston so I hate the Sox. i hit upon i'm extra smitten by the Yankees than i'm about my admired football crew the Chargers and an in intensity second the Titans.

No not all at!!! Never even cross my mind.
They only interest is CRICKET. Not sure they even know the world cup playing. If you say world cup to an Indian, they will think you talking about the World Cup 2007 cricket games!!!

also there has not been put any focus on football ..
ccricket is played in gullys (streets) from childhood...
football does not come really from inside...
